TYPE: Brazil. Ile. Ste. Catherine, Devos s.n. En 1849, M. Ambroise Verschaffelt, recevait celle qui fait le sujet du cet article, et qui vient de lui fleurir pour le première fois en Jan dernier (1853) (lectotype designated by Pridgein (1978), plate associated with the protologue Jard. Fleur. 3: t. 325. 1853).
