Cohniella ascendens (Lindl.) Christenson, Lindleyana 14(4): 177. 1999.

Bas.: Oncidium ascendens Lindl., Edwards's Bot. Reg. 28: sub t. 4. 1842.

TYPE: Guatemala. This is from Guatemala, and has much the habit of O. cebollota; but the linear wings of the column, the small erect lateral lobes of the lip, and the many-toothed tubercle distinguish it at once. April 1841, Hartweg s.n. (holotype, K).
